As the Service Unit Product Manager, you will coordinate the Product Program for the Service Unit, working with troop volunteers and caregivers to ensure girls have the opportunity to learn the five skills at the core of the Girl Scout Product Program.
Qualifications
- Must be an active, registered member of GSUSA.
- Must have a current (within 3 years), eligible background check on file with GSCSA.
- Basic computer skills with email access are required.
Responsibilities
- Comply with all GSCSA policies/procedures, including those outlined in the Volunteer Product Program Guide.
- Review and model the Code of Conduct for Girl Scout Product Program Volunteers as outlined below.
- Complete all required product training for this role.
- Educate troops in proper program procedures.
- Meet all paperwork and submission deadlines.
- Remind troops to submit all documentation on time and adhere to all deadlines.
- Verify and enter all information in M2 on or before the deadline.
- Arrange a Service Unit delivery site for product and rewards. Sign for all product received, maintain complete and accurate records for all product received.
- Store all product according to guidelines in Volunteer Product Program Guide, take all precautions to prevent melted product.
- Inspect and distribute product to troops. Always use a receipt system.
- Distribute rewards to troops within one week of receiving them. Report all missing rewards immediately to info@girlscoutcsa.org.
- Notify staff of any accidents, incidents, or problems.
Code of Conduct
Responsible behavior is a key expectation for girls and adults participating in all Girl Scout Product Programs. Responsible behavior reflects trustworthiness, respect, fairness, caring, and citizenship. Participants are expected to follow all program guidelines as outlined in the Volunteer Product Program Guide and behave appropriately to ensure a high-quality learning experience and for the safety of all participants. By signing the Service Unit Agreement form, you are agreeing to adhere to the following Code of Conduct:
- Remember - I am a role model, my behavior reflects on all Girl Scouts
- Be polite and friendly to customers, fellow Girl Scouts, and Volunteers
- Adhere to all sales start and end dates
- Adhere to the set price of all product
- Honestly report all initial and final sales numbers in M2
- Follow all social media, general safety, and online safety guidelines
- Will not ask another business to place orders or sell product for a girl
- Will ensure all banking information is accurately submitted by the deadline
- Will provide kind and supportive guidance and education for fellow volunteers and caregivers in how to model principles and practices that demonstrate appropriate decision-making and responsibility for our girls

Disciplinary Actions
We rely on our volunteers to kindly coach each other through making decisions that focus on educating the girls and making this a safe, fair, and fun learning experience for them.
If a Volunteer or Troop displays behavior that does not honor the Code of Conduct or follow Product Program procedures, and does not correct itself after peer coaching, the Council will consider whether disciplinary actions are warranted. These consequences include: forfeiture of rewards or proceeds or dismissal from all volunteer positions. The consequence(s) will be carefully considered according to the degree of poor conduct displayed.
